It may not be new to anyone and hardly anyone would think that Final Fantasy XV would not look much better on Xbox One X, but some things are better represented in practice than in theory, are not they? If there was any doubt that Square’s game would not look good on the new Microsoft console, it ceases to exist now.
In this comparison made by YouTube’s ElAnalistaDeBits user, it is possible to analyze that the increase in resolution, rendering distance of objects and many other aspects have been improved in Xbox One X. When placed side by side with the original version of Xbox One, the one that had resolution, the difference becomes glaring. Check out the images for the Microsoft consoles:
What about PS4 Pro?
So far, the PlayStation 4 Pro version stood out the most (and rightly so, since Sony’s premium console was the most powerful yet). Although the PS4 Pro comes in the same resolution as the Xbox One X, which is 1800p, the Sony console does this with a checkerboarding technique, while the Microsoft video game natively reaches and then uses the same technique to get to 2160p (4K) resolution.
What does this mean in practice? Basically, we have an even sharper image and no technical problems that blur some moving objects, creating some rather strange grid effects.
So far, this puts the Xbox One X version as the best of all. Unfortunately, there are still no details on the performance mode, which leaves the resolution at 1080p and tries to reach 60 fps (on PS4 Pro, the game is between 45 and 50 fps). It is worth mentioning that Final Fantasy XV will arrive at the PC next year and only then will we see the graphic limits of the game.
