After a few weeks with a lot of leaks related to the Galaxy S8 Active, here finally comes what looks like a real image of the device on the web. A Redditor posted photos and video of a prototype, which he says he got from a friend of Samsung’s San Francisco employee.
The video ended up erased from the web, after some Redditor’s warnings about the danger his friend could run if there was any identification to help Samsung figure out where the device had leaked. But the images have been saved on the internet and you can see them below.
In the images, the screen has the same 5.8 inches of the basic version, but it is not curved. That is, this variant is much larger than the other model. This choice must have been made to ensure the longest durability of the device.
At the bottom, Samsung will keep the virtual buttons on the screen, dispensing with the rubberized version of other versions of Galaxy S Active (which reaches its fifth model). The body is practically all in polycarbonate, except for the metal sides – again, a choice to guarantee the greater resistance of the device.
On account of the 4.000mAh battery, the Galaxy S8 Active is also about 1.5x thicker than the S8. The carrying capacity remains the same as the predecessor S7 Active. This time, however, there does not seem to be a camera mode for use underwater.
Otherwise, the specifications will be the same as the S8 and S8 Plus models. In the case: Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 graphics card, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, 12MP cameras at the rear and 8MP at the front.
