The role veteran will continue to do autonomous projects.
With the aim of focusing on the various projects he is involved in, the screenwriter Drew Karpyshyn leaves the studio of BioWare and his work in Anthem, the new franchise with which EA will face games like Destiny (Activision) or The Division (Ubisoft).
Karpyshyn is an eminence of the role that has worked on titles as impressive as Star Wars: The Old Republic, Baldur’s Gate II, Jade Empire or the first two Mass Effect. Beyond the protection of BioWare, he also worked with Wizards of the Coast in Magic: The Gathering, numerous own novels and a new one in production set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons.
After leaving the Canadian study in 2012, he recently returned to work at Anthem, but his stay has been short. With everything, and as he says in his blog, he will not leave video games at all. Next, he will proceed to work with FoxNext Games on an unveiled project developed by Fogbank Entertainment. Being a subsidiary of 20th Century Fox, it is rumored that it would be a narrative game based on the Alien franchise.
Anthem will come to PC, PS4 and Xbox One at some point to be finalized in 2019. BioWare will set a beta prior to its launch, so we will have the opportunity to test it before.
