The version for the console will only have some mods available
Cities: Skylines is a fun game for many reasons and one of them is the amount of great and strange mods that the community has developed. The problem is that, until now, it is something exclusive for those who play it on PC. Colossal Order, Paradox Interactive, and Tantalus are not entirely happy with this, which is why they will add support for mods to the Cities version: Skylines for Xbox One.
In a publication on Xbox Wire, Sandra Neudinger, Product Manager of Cities: Skylines – Xbox One Edition announced that starting tomorrow, the version of the game for Xbox One will have support for mods. The best of all is that all content that is available as a mod will be free.
Something that is important to note is that this option will not present all the mods available for Cities: Skylines for PC. That is, Xbox One users can only select among the available mods in a list curated and approved by the developers of this version. The good thing is that the door is open to the possibility that the number of mods available increases.
“This is our first project with mods for any title for Xbox One and it’s something we’ve tried for a while. We are excited to hear what you think about these initial mods and if we seem to be on the right track, please tell us. We would love to keep this content growing, “concluded Neudinger.
At the moment it is not exactly clear how the Mods for Cities Skylines will work on Xbox One. That said, the information published on Xbox Wire seems to indicate that from tomorrow a mod browser will appear from which players can see the available mods and install the ones that they like the most.
