Xbox One will soon join Fortnite Cross Game Support

However, it is not clear if the Xbox One and PS4 players will be able to play together.

Fortnite: Phil Spencer would support the Cross Game between Xbox One and PS4

Microsoft will soon add Xbox One to the list of platforms on which Fortnite supports cross-play. It is the only platform that we lacked in the list of compatible versions with this feature that Epic Games provided yesterday in a statement: PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and the recently announced versions of iOS and Android.

“We’ve been working with the Epic Games team for a while to bring this functionality to all existing and future versions of Fortnite, and we hope it will be available on Xbox along with the rest of the platforms,” a Microsoft representative told The Verge. “Microsoft has long been the lead singer when it comes to encouraging the adoption of the cross-game mechanism to unite PC players, mobile players, and all consoles.”

Is it possible to play Fortnite between PS4 and Xbox One? That remains to be seen since Sony already refused to offer this possibility in games like Minecraft or Rocket League. And it seems that it is the only barrier that prevents us from realizing this characteristic if we consider that in the past it was already possible to experiment briefly as part of a “test”.
